it is obvious. it is the fault of the rock. The guy didn't make any mistake that we can learned. It is current to see people fallen like apple from a three. It is what they do in a gym. I had one in the gunks recently and he, and me, was lucky that the rusty pin hold is fall. It was the only protection and loose rock.

Nobody need to learn how to climb trad. and nobody need to learn how to avoid an accident by reading the mistake of other.

Say Luke- I'm being serious here- how many leader falls have you taken and what's the longest one?

I was the leader most of the time. I felt two times a year in general.
I climbed in remote area. On sight. A broken leg can end by a death where I climbed. No rescue. No phone or signal.
The,rock where I climb was not clean and I have all the natural features from a falling tree to loose rock. Cathedral is close to a rock gym when I begin to climb there. My topo was a line in a picture of a cliff bigger than canon.

We can't came back to those remote area. But safety is safety. And we think more to came back safe than to show that I did the 5.10 to look good.
Some 5.7 was very challenging and we came back very happy of the challenge. Route finding . Safety sunshine friendship where all present

Why did you do most of the leading ?   Bring an inexperienced partner into a remote situation ?  Ego???/

Reminds me of Cesare Maestri...I lead, my partners know the deal

Wishing Justin a speedy and a full recovery. Pretty long haul to carry someone from up there, I wonder if a helicopter was utilized?
