Hi Folks,

Let it snow, snow, snow... And it has. So in a little more than 10 days we've had 3 big storms come through, dropping a pant-load of white stuff. Tho the Valley itself seemed to dodge the proverbial bullet this time around, everywhere around us got pretty clobbered. I measured a paltry 5" here by the Ledge, while Madison apparently got close to 2' and even Stark Road in Center Conway got 18! Go figure.

All this snow has made getting around a hassle PLUS even on the normal trade-routes there is snow that can present problems. One might not think that Smugglers Notch in Vermont would avalanche, but it did on Wednesday! If it can happen there, it can happen anywhere. Heck, I've seen an avalanche on the ledge at the start of Thresher and another on Cinema!

If you are planning on being in the Ravines, be sure to check the Avalanche Advisory here:

Right now it's Considerable in both.
Of course the regular Thursday ice pix are on NEClimbs.com and Facebook, but here are some of the other pix.

VALLEY CYCLING:
Due to the amount of snow we've gotten in the past 10 days, there isn't anything of consequence to rider here in the Valley right now. Stay tuned...

Up on one of the Mount Washington Valley's finest crags and want to know what that climb you're looking at is? Or maybe you're on your way up from Boston and want to check out the Ice Report for your upcoming weekend plans. Or more likely, you're at work just want to daydream about your next adventure. Well if you have a smart phone handy, you can get to NEClimbs from anywhere you have cell service. All ice is dangerous. Grade 4 pillars are pumpy. Grade 5 pillars are pumpy and dangerous. Except for certain rare days of triple-high biorythms and favorable planetary alignments, grade 6 is beyond reach.
