Hi Folks,

Sorry but way way too busy to write this morning, and I have to make a Dr. appointment in Scarborough this afternoon. (Just got back.) Sorry 'bout that. But wanted to get the weather out there. It's drizzling now and more coming in tonight and tomorrow. Yet another outdoor gig cancelled for tomorrow. [arrrggg] I am REALLY tired of this summer. The river is still brown and rushing in many places. Several accidents on the river, one death, and numerous injuries by hikers requiring carry outs, one of those also a death. Stay careful folks...

RUMNEY CRAGGIN' CLASSIC - September 15-17::
This 3-day grassroots climbing festival brings climbers from all over New England to Rumney, one of the oldest premiere sport climbing destinations in the United States. Challenge yourself on the schist and get after some of the most iconic routes in New England.

Come spend time with your community, give back to our local crags, and learn new skills. We pride ourselves on the fact that the Craggin’s are a party with a heart, so these walls are also hosting climbing clinics taught by professional athletes and skilled certified climbing instructors and a chance to make the Earth a little better with a stewardship project hosted in partnership with The Rumney Climbers’ Association.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the epic celebration that it is today without our Vendor Village, local craft beer and food, gear giveaways and demos, games, raffles, and an epic bonfire by the river. What makes these events truly exceptional is the community of friendly folks who show up to celebrate our shared love of vertical pursuits. Rain or shine, we’re going to have a great time.

INSTANT BUG REPORT - 2:
Evening can be brutal, but overall the bugs aren't too bad. Thank goodness...

VALLEY CYCLING:
There is a LOT of salvage-logging on the east side trails right now. DARN! But the West side has been generally OK. The Cranmore downhill trails aren't bad, other than a few ruts here and there. Those get repaired fairly regularly, but the storms that keep coming through don't help. I rode across the mountain and down Tornado this afternoon and there certainly were some muddy spots on the Kettle Connector and some standing water here & there on Tornado. It all seems to be pretty standard for this summer. SHEESH

Remember - climb hard, ride the twisty stuff, wear a helmet, stay safe - and above all BE NICE.

Mobile Version Of NEClimbs:
Up on one of the Mount Washington Valley's finest crags and want to know what that climb you're looking at is? Or maybe you're on your way up from Boston and want to check out the Ice Report for your upcoming weekend plans. Or more likely, you're at work just want to daydream about your next adventure. Well if you have a smart phone handy, you can get to NEClimbs from anywhere you have cell service. While it doesn't offer every single feature of the site and it's not an "app", in mobile form, it does do a whole lot and is very useful. Here is the live link to the mobile version of NEClimbs:

Check it out and if you have issues on your specific phone, please feel free to let me know.
