Hi Folks,
DAMN, two daze of warm temps, with Thursday into the upper-middle 40's, plus a solid 24 hours of rain! This sure is an unexpectedly early spring warmup. There are warnings about rivers and streams overflowing and ice jams that we don't usually get 'till the end of March. But here we are... And besides the hit to the climbing ice, this has made a mess of my garage. The amount of rain, coupled with the ground being frozen, allowed the runoff to seep into the garage. Not sure it will dry up before the real spring. DOUBLE DAMN!
Here are some of the pictures from Thursday. For ALL of the pictures and full Conditions Report go to the Ice Conditions page.

There were several days of really nice riding before the rain. It's unclear what's gong to happen now. Most certainly there we=ill be at least several days of no riding. But if it gets cold and things set up we should be OK. I will be very bummed if this is the end of the snow riding, so stay tuned...

The rules of the game must be constantly updated to keep up with the expanding technology. Otherwise we overkill the classic climbs and delude ourselves into thinking we are better climbers than the pioneers. |
